Legal basis
Your IP address and your approximate country are processed as each page loads, and the basis for that is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: a page cannot reach you at all without an IP address, and without the country we cannot point a "Check price" button at the Amazon store that actually sells the telescope or the eyepiece you are reading about. No interest beyond those two is pursued.
Who serves these pages, and what that sends abroad
The hosting is Railway Corporation (548 Market Street, PMB 68956, San Francisco, CA 94104, United States); the delivery is Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States). Both are established in the United States, which means every page you open here involves a transfer to that country. We keep no access logs of our own and analyse none; where either provider retains logs for technical reasons, its own privacy policy is what governs them.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. No advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, no account to create, no comment field, no newsletter.
What the server is sent
Two things on this site are assembled for each request instead of being served as ready-made files: the affiliate redirect and the live price lookup. Each of them reads your approximate country — from a header the CDN supplies, or otherwise from the language your browser announces — so that a button opens the right Amazon store in the right currency. The country is used to build the response and stored nowhere.
No web server can answer a request without receiving an IP address, and this one is no different. That address is never written to a database, never used to assemble a profile, and never handed to anybody.
What changes the moment you leave for Amazon
A "Check price" button takes you off this site, and from that point Amazon's own privacy policy is the one that applies. Amazon sets a cookie so that a resulting purchase is credited to us. Who you are, which telescope or eyepiece you ordered and what you paid for it never reach us — only a count of orders, in aggregate, weeks afterwards.
Third parties
Every font is served from this site's own domain, so your browser requests nothing from anyone else. A live price is retrieved by the server from a price-history service rather than by your browser, and that is why the service in question never sees you.
Your rights
There is no personal data held here to act on: nothing to disclose to you, nothing to rectify, nothing to delete. Should you think otherwise, write in and the question will be looked into.
The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority applies regardless (Article 77 GDPR). Since the publisher is established in France, that authority is the CNIL — Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France. A reader resident in another member state may equally approach the authority of their own country.
